Today we made the walk from Khumjung to Dhole. The trek today took about 5 1/2 hours. During our walk we went through a few different vegetation zones and then finally past the treeline into the alpine zone. Dhole it self is a very beautiful town. It sits behind the crest of a hill and is much smaller than Namche or Khumjung. Tonight I will have the usual dal bhat and tomato soup. Tomorrow we set out for Gokyo to meet the scientists and David, who left to go ahead a few days ago. During today’s walk we passed through a rhododendron forest. If we had come in the spring we would see beautiful pink flowers. I’m looking forward to meeting the scientists and learning more about the glacier. I am also excited to see the Ngozumpa glacier, as it is much bigger than the Lirung glacier.
